Do you know where your food comes from? Does it travel 1500 miles to your plate or just across your county? Would you like to learn how to buy more of your food from your own community? Would you like to take more control of the ingredients that end up on your table? The Peace & Justice committee will be sponsoring a Food Co-op Day and Educational Event at the Buxmont Fellowship. Please join us to hear Melissa Miles, from the Eastern Pennsylvania Permaculture Guild, speak about the weaknesses of our current food system and advise us how we can change to a more local diet. You will also learn how the growing food co-op movement is making it possible for you to control your food supply. The Doylestown Food Co-op will be there to tell you all about us... Other area Co-ops, both active and start-ups, have been invited to join us. There will also be a representative from Rolling Harvest Food Rescue. This wonderful organization makes it possible for locally grown, nutritious food to find its way to the plates of those who can least afford it.
There will be much to learn for all of us! For more information contact Jeanne Kane
