Come join us at the Doylestown Bookshop to discuss Pandora's Lunchbox by Melanie Warner.
If you were operating off of an old listing, you may have purchased The Feast Nearby for this month. Rest assured, your purchase was not in vain, as that is August's book club book. This month's book is a great, and fast read, so if you haven't picked it up yet, there is still time. Even if you don't finish it, we hope you'll come join us if this is of interest. You do NOT have to be a Co-op member to join us!
Here's what Mark Bittman has to say about Pandora's Lunchbox which tells us how processed food took over the American meal:
So much fun that you might forget how depressing it all is… There are more Holy Cow! moments here than even someone who thinks he or she knows what’s going on in food production could predict.”
We meet at 6:15 with the discussion starting promptly at 6:30. After an hour and a half of what is almost always spirited discussion, we have been heading over to a local eatery for some "social time". Some people chose to bring a "pot luck" dish inspired by the book we've read. EVERYONE is welcome. You don't have to be a member of the Co-op. Mention that you are purchasing the book for the Food For Thought Book Club, and you'll receive 20% off your book price at the Doylestown Bookshop. And you can buy the Ebook through the bookshop as well!
