Trip to Bartram's Garden - Sept. 14 - Postponed

Apparently, this is a VERY busy weekend - with the Arts Festival, the Bike Race, and so much more in town.  Since we haven't figured out how to be in two places at once, we are canceling this event.  We will hope to reschedule this for the spring.

THIS Trip to Bartram's Garden, the oldest surviving botanical garden in North America, was inspired by our May reading selection of Founding Gardners at our Doylestown Food Coop's Food For Thought Book Club.

The 3-hour trip includes a boat trip with Patriot Harbor Lines (http://www.phillybyboat.com/schuylkill-tours/step-back-in-time-bartram-gardens/) leaving from Walnut Street Dock to Bartram's Garden (http://www.bartramsgarden.org/ ), where you can explore the gardens and then have a guided tour of the original 1728 Bartram Home. Feel free to bring a picnic.

Date: September 14, 2014

Tour Start Time: 12:00 p.m.

Transportation: individually arranged, but the dock is just a 2 block walk from 30th Street Station; meet promptly at 11:45 - 15 minutes early to organize ourselves

Cost: $30 per person

Contact: Heidi Shiver, 215.262.7294 (cell)

Max Group Size: 20

Note: Location of the gardens are near UPenn on the Schyulkill River in an moderate/high crime area.
